Esme lives in Cape Town, South Africa. She is married and has a daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter. Training and leadership development for God’s purposes is her passion. Esme is Tirzah’s Director of Leadership Development and serves other ministries including being the International Director of Church Engagement for the World Evangelical Alliance and a chairperson for African Women in Mission Network and the Pan African Women's Alliance.

Women in her region face a number of challenges including poverty, exclusion, unjust marriage situations, muffled voices in church, curtailment of using their spiritual gifts to empower the church, and abuse of all kinds including physical violence of which South Africa has one of the highest incidence rates in the world. Esme’s dream is to see equity and justice at all levels of society.

Prayer Requests:

• Please pray for the connection between the Global Leaders, that they would be encouraged as a community of sisters.

• For each mentor and mentee as they study the Modules together. Pray that they will not slack off, that the mentors will seek to serve the mentees as they grow. Pray also for a grant application we have submitted to assist the leadership development program that the donors will be willing to release the funds requested.

• My travels as I develop leaders for the ELP program. Please pray for:

  • easy transport and flight connections

  • the Holy Spirit to lead me

  • easy interpretation and connections to the women

  • clarity and encouragement as I meet with the young women

  • safety and health with changing weather
