Leadership Initiative
Our Emerging Leader program equips the next generation of female change-makers to combat injustices against women through a two-year mentorship program.
Creating Opportunity through Leadership Development
Tirzah’s “When Women Rise” Emerging Leader Program is equipping young women to discover their God-given potential. This two-year, 10-module program was collaboratively developed by expert leaders and contextualized by local mentors. Each mentor coaches three to five mentees through this college-level curriculum based on the life of Jesus and his example of being a servant leader.
This program is quickly becoming an incubator for developing young women as life-long advocates and change-makers in their region. The Leadership Initiative is proving successful as mentees from Cohort One are becoming mentors (see Bridget’s story), mentors are now Tirzah Regional Leaders, some are launching new Small Business Training and Sustainability Initiatives in their areas. We see this being an important part of developing and growing a network of trusted leaders for decades to come.
Meet Bridget
“It has always been my desire to lead, but I didn't know how I could do it and I wasn't so sure if God really wanted this too. When I saw my fellow women leading in this program, it gave me the confirmation to go ahead and become a leader. This program is an eye opener. I realized how significant it is to start with self-leadership and the need to lead myself first in terms of character, attitude, and building a solid relationship with God then I am able to lead others better. I've learnt to treat every individual in a group or team equally by making sure to have good communication with each. It has been such an inspiration and an encouragement to see women united and committed to leadership. I know now that God has also called women to lead.”
Bridget is now mentoring four young ladies who have joined the Tirzah Emerging Leader Program. She also supports seven under privileged women that she is developing spiritually and financially in Malawi’s capital Lilongwe.
