Victoria Sanjenbam Devi

Victoria lives in Delhi, India and is the co-director of Kushbu, an organization training local women to develop true artisanal skills while offering them fair wages and providing a safe environment to create premium block-printed, hand-stitched products. Victo also runs a Tirzah microenterprise program for women in her area.

At the grassroot level, Victo says that India still has a long way to go. Girls are still considered to be a liability. Many parents focus on finding a suitable guy for their daughter and will marry her off leaving the girl financially dependent on her husbands. Women suffer and tolerate verbal and physical abuse from their husbands because they are the providers. The women Victo trains are proud that they can save for their kids' education and also have some extra to spend on themselves.

Victo’s wish for women is that parents of girl children will focus on edu cating and empowering them so they become financially independent before they marry them off.

Praise:

  • We thank God that even through the pandemic we were able to operate the business and hire more people while many companies were letting go of their staff. For us, it's nothing short of miracle. Thank God for his provision.

  • Our ladies hunger for God and desire to grow in the Lord. God is working deep in their hearts.

  • Thank God for providing funding for us to continue this work. God has brought amazing friends like Tirzah to encourage and support us.

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for increase capacity like space, machines, and additional orders so we can help more ladies in need.

  • Pray for wisdom for good designs and marketing strategies to increase our sales.
