Bharathy lives in Maharashtra, India. She is the founder of the Managing Trustee of Kshamata. Kshamata works with women who are vulnerable victims of gender based violence including human trafficking. Bharathy works with victims to break the cycle of exploitation and has launched a Tirzah microenterprise program. The program is equipping these women with vocational skills and sustainable livelihoods. It also empowers them with life skills and supports them to transition into self reliance with a clear sense of dignity, identity, and self worth.

Bharathy’s dream is for women and adolescent girls to be able to make decisions, earn a living for themselves, and not depend on men to make them feel secure.
