Rebecca is married and has three sons. She lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She serves and worships at BEZA International Ministries and is a Program Policy Advisor at the World Food Program. Her greatest joy is serving her family and working to achieve her organization’s vision of zero hunger. She is a mentor in Tirzah’s Emerging Leader initiative.
In Ethiopia, women face many challenges. They are the primary agricultural laborers, yet their contributions often go largely unrecognized. Their fathers or husbands often restrict access to resources and community participation. One in three women experience physical, emotional, or sexual violence. Sixty-five percent of women have experienced female genital mutilation. Only half of girls who enroll in primary schools ever make it to grade five. At work, Rebecca makes sure that projects identify specific needs of women and respond to their challenges.
Her dream is that women in her region are empowered through education and access to opportunities including finances. She wishes to see them become self-sufficient and confident.

Pray for Ethiopia in 2024 that we may experience and maintain peace and stability throughout the nation. May all conflicts and unrests be resolved, and may the people live in harmony and unity. Grant wisdom and discernment to all leaders and individuals working towards peace, that they may be guided by God’s divine principles.
Pray for women of Ethiopia. We ask that God provides them with increased resources and opportunities so they may thrive and contribute to the development of their communities and the nation. May they be empowered to pursue their dreams, access quality education, healthcare, and equal employment opportunities. Let their voices and talents be valued and recognized!
