Welcoming Tirzah’s New Executive Director

This is a historic moment for Tirzah: we have a new Executive Director! There were many excellent candidates, but one stood out clearly above the rest: Suzy Bates. As a church pastor, community collaborator and international outreach leader with a heart for women, Suzy is especially gifted to lead Tirzah into this next era.

Tirzah's Board of Directors is grateful the Lord brought Suzy to Tirzah “for such a time as this.” She will begin her duties in January 2025. Please welcome her to the sisterhood! Suzy’s commitment to Tirzah’s mission is inspiring, and I know you will feel her passion for this work as you read her message below.

Every blessing,

Debbie Christian

Beloved Tirzah Family,

I am overwhelmed at the incredible opportunity to join Team Tirzah as its new Executive Director! With ten years of leadership experience in the nonprofit sector, and a passion to further God’s Kingdom and advance solutions for women’s issues, I am eager to contribute towards Tirzah’s mission to stand with our sisters around the world as they rise to their God-given potential.

Since first learning of Tirzah’s global impact, I truly have never been able to look away. As an executive pastor, and the advocating voice for Tirzah in my church since 2022, I have had the privilege to see its influence firsthand in Hyderabad, New Delhi, and Mumbai, India. God has held my gaze fast on this sacred effort! I am ecstatic to continue casting a potent vision of Tirzah and the Kingdom-impact that women are making around the world as a formal part of Team Tirzah!

My leadership approach emphasizes transparency and trust, fostering an environment where collaboration and authentic communication thrives. I am highly relational and team-oriented and simply can’t wait to begin this new journey alongside Tirzah’s amazing global leaders, staff, and board of directors. Even more, I am especially eager to connect with Tirzah’s sweet community of donors and volunteers. I commit myself to you all wholeheartedly and count it an overwhelming honor to do so. Let’s do this!

Sincerely yours,

Suzy Bates
